Our Currex Monolith foot scan is a state-of-the-art digital foot scanner that will help you understand how your feet move when you walk or run. Using this system we assess: How your foot lands, including pressure points. Your level of pronation (neutral, degree of overpronation or supination) Some imbalances that might lead to discomfort or injury. This will allow us to recommend the most suitable shoes for your gait, improving both comfort and performance. Types of Pronation. Neutral A neutral pronator lands on the outer edge of the heel then rolls inwards to absorb impact. A neutral running gait is one of the most common types of pronation. Best type of shoe: Balanced cushioning. Overpronation Overpronation of the foot is another common variation. As the foot lands on the outside of the heel the ankle rolls inwards which can place strain on the body when running or walking. Best type of shoe: Supportive. The level and type of support may vary, so speaking with our running experts is key to finding the best shoe for your needs. Supination, also known as under pronation. This is the opposite of overpronation and less common. The foot strikes the ground on its outside of the heel but does not fully roll inwards enough to absorb the impact. Best type of shoe: Neutral with good cushioning, balance, and guidance. What to expect: Our gait analysis process. Using the Currex monolith foot scanner, our running experts will: Get to know more about you and understand your goals, activity level, and current shoes. The system uses several sensors to gather data to give feedback on how your foot lands and moves over the mat. We will review all of the results and explain any cushioning and support needs with you. And now it is time to try on some shoes! We will bring out a selection of leading brands for you to try out. Our goal is simple; we want to ensure you feel supported, confident, and comfortable in your purchase and for you to leave us knowing you have the right shoe to match your needs. What is Gait Analysis? Gait Analysis is a simple in-store assessment that looks at how your feet move when running or doing other forms of exercise. This allows us to match you with footwear that provide the right level of support, cushioning, and stability. Why is it important? Gait analysis helps identify and understand your own running style. It can help reduce the risk of common running injuries. Improves comfort during runs and daily activity. Supports better performance and consistency in running or training. How much does it cost? Our gait analysis service costs £20, which can be redeemed against the cost of a new pair of running shoes should you purchase in store, on the day or at a later date. Do I need an appointment? No appointment needed. ![]() Visit your local running shop.
